The Plantar Flexion Stop (PFS) sandal has been designed to help children
whose feet have a tendency to point downwards (plantar flexion), and have
limited dorsiflexion. The sandal is also good for children with hyperflexible
feet as it ensures the foot is always held in a neutral or dorsiflexed
state.
The sandals are used in conjunction with the standard Ponseti AFO Quick
Clip system. As with the standard Ponseti AFO, the PFS holds the foot
out at an angle to maintain the correction of the clubfoot.
Our products do not contain latex rubber. Sizes preemie – 0 and sizes 5-12 are made of a polyurethane material which has been tested for toxicity. Sizes 1-4 are made of a thermoplastic elastomer which is FDA approved. The pressure saddles are also made of thermoplastic elastomer approved by the FDA.
